The tour begins at 115 Sandra Muraida Way in Austin, or the north side of the Pfluger Pedestrian Bridge. The Hops and Grain 5k should take 45 minutes to an hour during the actual running portion. The run will end at Hops and Grain Brewery, and each participant will get a complimentary beer of their choosing. There is a brewery tour of the facility at 1pm that is free and all are welcome to go on that as well. The tour will not provide transportation back to the starting location. Many participants hang out at the brewery for a while after the tour has concluded. Live music and food are also sometimes available at the brewery. Participants will be provided with a goodie bag at the end of the tour that features Clif products. CRT will take pictures during the tour that will be sent to runners after the tour has concluded. Tour size is typically 10-20 participants.

A partnership that will make both beer lovers and passionate runners weep tears of joy, City Running Tours Austin and the Hops and Grain Brewery have collaborated in creating the Hops and Grain Brewery 5k! Beer and running coalesce seamlessly into an entertaining 3.1-mile running tour that ends appropriately at the local brewery where each registrant may drink beer afterwards!
It is asked that runners show up at least 5 minutes early (11:55am) so that you can stretch out and get acquainted with the guides and other participants. Meet in front of the old Lukes Locker Store on 115 Sandra Muraida Way in Austin. Once everyone has arrived (only waiting ten minutes after the starting time for any late arrivals) the tour will begin by making its way up to 6th Street. Most tours will feature enough guides to accommodate different running paces so that you may run as fast or as slow as you please. You will run through West Austin checking out some of the area's popular bars, restaurants, and new developments. You will visit the Scarborough Building, the Driskill Hotel, and Littlefield Building. You will then run through Dirty 6th through some of the most historic buildings that are now ground zero for Austin's nightlife. Pictures will be taken throughout the tour so that you don't have to take them yourself, and you will be sent them via email after the tour.
East 6th Street is one of the most quickly gentrified zip codes in America. Much of Austin's culture, food, and music has its home in East Austin, but many of the 5th-generation families are being priced out. You will explore the old and new parts of East 6th while discussing the quick change coming to the area.
The tour is a straight 3.1 miles and will end at Hops and Grain Brewery, where you will receive a complimentary beer on CRT. Everybody on tour will hang out and drink, while you can take yet another tour, that of the brewery facility. Many participants on the 5k tours will socialize and hang out for the rest of the day as our tours are 50% tourists and 50% locals (although most locals just moved here) ;)
You will be offered a goodie bag at the end of the tour and the hope is that our runners leave us good reviews after. THERE IS NO TRANSPORTATION BACK TO THE STARTING AREA unless said otherwise.
The hope is that you have a great time on the brewery tour as you are shown our beloved city, try some of the finest beer, and hang with an eclectic mix of Austinites and visitors! The goal is to make it so that you never think about running and only focus on the cool historical facts, scenic views, and quality company that surround you as you earn your tacos, brisket, and beer for the rest of the day!
Tours have been given for over six years and would love for you to spread the word of the best way to see the city! (Quick hint: buses, segways, and walking isn't nearly as fun!)
So come sweat and sight-see with us!
